  1. And guess what, we won again against the Dynamo 4-1 (which we have the second highest goal total, so we do have some style). So people may not like our style, but we are running away with the league! 😉

  2. LA is just doing the be.st thing possible until donovan and buddle return… defend defend defend get a counter attack score a goal repeat process. When their strike force returns you will see that LA team that everyone saw during the 4-0 thrashing of seattle

  3. In 08 the Galaxy was all attack with no Defense. In 09 Bruce Arena added a solid defense but the attack became hampered with Beckham out until July, Buddle staying injured & Eskandarian being retired during the AC Milan game. Now the attack is better but is still lacking due to Beckham being hurt; leaving Landon & Buddle to shoulder the entire burden. If Bowen & Stephens step up, the Galaxy attack will become insane. More so when LD & Buddle return from the WC, & Beckham during the playoffs.

  4. The LA Galaxy have the second most goals scored in the league and the second most shots. In other words, they are creating plenty of offense. Their chances are just extremely direct. They are exciting to watch because they can make a goal out of nothing.

  5. Great debate today! I mean really. This arguement ha been around for eons and the bottom line is it really depends more on the teams personel more than a coaches particular style. Yes attacking football is more exciting and in many ways your attack is and integral part of your defense but against a savy coach always attacking can also be your downfall. Teams who are not flexible to do both when necessary will eventually falter. This is especially true where you have playoffs like the MLS.

  6. It depends on what you’re better at. Do you have players who are better at being tight, compact and organized on defense, or do you have players who are better at holding the ball, keeping it away from the opposition, making them chase the game and tiring them out and dictating the pace and play of the game. The Galaxy has the first one. Defense may give away possession, but a team who can’t keep possession well and throw numbers in to the attack are screwed on the counter.

  7. In response to Simon, and the constantly attacking style, it doesn’t always do good. Take a look at the NBA and the Golden State Warriors. They are always attacking and attacking and still remain a team with a terrible record. Now the Phoenix Suns were like that as well, but this past year had incorporated defense into their style and it took them to the Western Conference Finals. The Galaxy are fine the way they are.

  10. As a Galaxy and a fan of soccer in general, i feel their style is working for them. Yes they do tend just to counter attack and then “lock it up” but what is wrong with that. Why would a team put their lead in jeopardy just so they can create one or two more chances? How they are playing is great and i wouldnt be surprised at all if they get the supporters shield this year.
