HAZARD IS DREAMING

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has said that he is already dreaming of winning the title this campaign. The 23-year-old fired Chelsea to the top of the table after his spectacular hat-trick against Newcastle United on Saturday. Despite having much of the ball in the opening exchanges, Chelsea failed to create the opening goal. As with many other matches this campaign, Hazard came up with the answer after his excellent play to open up Newcastle midway through the first half. He exchanged passes with Branislav Ivanovic before slotting the ball home with a thunderous effort.

His second came from a brilliant counter-attack, while he completed his hat-trick in the second half from a penalty. This was the 14th goal of the season for the Belgian international, who is fast becoming one of the best players in the world. The win for Chelsea coupled with Arsenal’s defeat and Manchester City’s draw in their matches meant that Chelsea were able to go top of the table. They have a one-point advantage over the players wearing arsenal t-shirts and two points over City. Hazard’s goals against Newcastle also took him past his last season’s tally with a third of the season remaining.

Mourinho said after the encounter that he was at a loss to why Hazard has not been selected for the player of the month award up until now.

“Top of the league. I go in my bed, I dream. I hope at the end of the season it will be the same. It’s a pleasure to play for this team and to work for that. Without the team I’m nothing,’ he said. ‘I just want to say thank you. Thank you, Lamps,” said Hazard after his hat-trick. ‘Our league is phenomenal and it is better than ever, but our league must be full of unbelievable players because this kid…not one single award,’ Mourinho said.
