REAL MADRID DUO MAKES FIFPRO LIST

Two Real Madrid players were named on the list of 23 players for the FIFPRO XI set to be released next month and Eden Hazard was not one of those two players. Understandably, Eden Hazard was snubbed as he continues to struggle for relevance in the Spanish top flight.

Eden Hazard is the record signing at Real Madrid after they paid around €100m to secure his transfer from West London giants Chelsea. The Belgian international has not been anyway near his best form in the colours of Real Madrid and he has  been overshadowed by the impressive form of young Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior at the club.

Hazard’s teammates namely David Alaba and Karim Benzema were named on the 23-man FIFPRO XI. Austrian senior national team star Alaba was one of six defenders on the FIFPRO nominees list released on Tuesday. The others are Ruben Dias of Manchester City, Barcelona star Jordi Alba, Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and Leonardo Bonucci of Juventus. Daniel Alves is the oldest on the list at the age of 38 and he is the sixth and final defender on the list. Alves has returned to Barcelona after he signed an 18-month deal until the end of next season. He’s not eligible to play for Barcelona until the start of next year as the Catalan giants continue to struggle for form.

Frenchman Karim Benzema is the other Real Madrid player on the list as one of eight attackers. Ex-Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, who’s a Manchester United player these days was also on the list. Apart from Benzema and Ronaldo, the other attackers on the list are highly rated Borussia Dortmund forward ErlingHaaland, Bayern Munich hitman Robert Lewandowski, Chelsea striker RomeluLukaku and the Paris Saint Germain trio of Neymar, Lionel Messi and KylianMbappe.
